Emily has a Bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Montana with a minor in Human and Family Development in addition to a Master’s of Clinical Mental Health from Southern Oregon University.
She has experience working with children and families in the mental health realm through experiences in individual therapy, group counseling, and both school-based and outdoor recreation-based education. Emily believes that individuals are best served through a holistic outlook that encompasses all areas of their lives including both external and internal factors. She has a strong belief that individual’s hold the answers that they are searching for, and she is there to support them in self-exploration through various different modalities. Emily has a passion for supporting the individuals that she works with in a variety settings where they feel the most comfortable and able to explore their personal lives.
Emily specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives as well as children with developmental disabilities. She works from a trauma-informed perspective in all that she does. Emily primarily utilizes modalities such as Positive Psychology, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance-Commitment Therapy. She strives to create a unique approach for each individual that compliments their own therapeutic needs.
