Collin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University Chico with a minor in Criminal Justice in addition to a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Oregon University.
Before joining Forever Family Therapy, Collin gained clinical experience through his work in the school systems, aiding students and their parents navigate their mental health needs, as well as, working collaboratively with the staff to help students succeed within the school environment. Collin believes that through hard work, determination, and creating a safe space, everyone is capable of change and working through any mental health hindrances that might be affecting the individual.
Collin’s foundational theory is Person Centered Counseling, which guides Collin to approach each client with unconditional positive regard, and recognize that clients are capable of positive change when given the right opportunities. Collin also utilizes techniques drawing from CBT, Existentialism, Collaborative Problem-Solving, and Play Therapy. Collin is especially skilled at treating anxiety, depression, and behaviors derived from anger.
